Journalist, sportswriter, author and historian. Combining a career as a war correspondent with sportswriter, Gordon went from reporting on the Korean War in 1950 and 1951, to the Helsinki Olympic Games in 1952, to the Rome Olympics in 1960. He helped plan for the 1956 Melbourne Olympics, the 1982 Commonwealth Games in Brisbane and the Sydney 2000 Olympic torch relay.
